Shelby Dress or Romper – Two-Day Garment Workshop

When: Weds and Thurs, October 25 and 26th, 6-9pm
Cost: $129 + cost of materials (class materials are 15% off in-store)
Teacher: Judi

Prerequisites: Garment sewing experience is required. This class will focus on creating a garment that
fits your specific measurements. We will use The Shelby Dress and Romper pattern which is a princess
seamed dress/romper with a V-neckline and buttons up the front. This pattern lends itself to adjusting
the pattern to create a great fit! This course is an intermediate Level workshop, for ages 16+.
What you will learn: We will review how to take our own measurements, and adjust the pattern pieces
according to our measurements. We will talk about pattern markings and we will cut out the garment
using the pattern we have adjusted for a great personal fit. Once cut and marked we will begin sewing
the dress. You will learn to adjust any pattern to fit you and give you the confidence to make a wide
variety of garments with a better fit!

What You’ll Need:
The Shelby Dress and Romper Pattern
Fabric; a stable woven like cotton, linen, denim, or rayon
Matching thread
Pencil
Measuring tape
Ruler
Pins
Tracing material
Fabric scissors

Before Coming to Class:
Purchase fabric using yardage from pattern – please choose size according to your bust
measurement
Pre-wash fabric
