Prerequisites: Basic sewing/quilting skills. If you know how to use a sewing machine and sew a basic quilt block, you’re ready for this class.
Whether you’ve been quilting for years or are just starting out, the world of color can be just as mysterious as it is beautiful. If you’d like to learn about how to put colors together in a way that looks intentional and adds more interest to your sewing projects, this is the perfect workshop for you.
In this workshop, we will be learning about all sorts of harmonious color schemes and how to push those schemes even further using aspects such as value, saturation, color temperature, and the psychology of color. To put these schemes into play, we’ll be using solid color fabrics to make quick and simple improv blocks out of each of color scheme. You can even bring a couple fabrics from your stash to pair with solids towards the end of class! And don’t worry if you’re not comfortable with sewing improv quilt blocks as just sewing strips of color together will work, too.
